[Story] A Cunning Plan Empty
PostSubject: [Story] A Cunning Plan   [Story] A Cunning Plan I_icon_minitimeSat Aug 29, 2009 8:00 am

The silver haired huntress stands in the guild hall, clutching her bow. The feathers tied to the bows limbs wave with the breeze from the Darnassian air flowing through the hall. She strokes them and flexes them into shape. Holding the bow in one hand she runs her fingers down the bow string. Thin, but strong.

She smiles.

The huntress looks over at the ghostly sabre resting near the table. She smiles again. This is her life. The hunter way.

But then her expression saddens. She knows that things have to change. She puts the bow on the weapon rack that her sister installed only recently. The bow fits into a hook, but she cannot take her hand off the weapon. She stands there looking at it with a feeling showing in her eyes as if she was giving up something. Her hand doesn’t want to let go of the bow.

The sabre approaches her. Her hand then raises and strokes her fur, then she removes her quiver from her shoulder. Placing it beside the bow, the sabre makes a slight sound at the Kaldorei. Syrinia closes her eyes.

“How did it come to this?” she whispers to the ghostly feline.

She opens her eyes with a sterner look and she focuses her attention to a large blue dwarven-like weapon. A gun. She glares at it with a hatred.

Grabbing it roughly without respect of the weapon she slings it over her shoulder and grabs for a pouch of ammo.

“I’m sorry Lilith my dear. You know we need to do this”

The white cat roars a deep sound.

The hunter and her companion walk up to the balcony of the building overlooking the ancient of war. The Ancient creaks and groans in his majestic way. Syrinia reaches into her bag. The night elf takes out her hearthstone, she draws her finger across the symbol

“Ash karath!” she calls and a glowing light envelopes the two of them, and in a flash they disappear.

The night elf emerges in the courtyard of the great fortress in Wintergrasp. The battle has already begun. Alliance heroes running frantically around, some running for the gun turrets on the towers, others heading out for capturing those workshops. So many humans here. Many other races run amongst them, dwarves, gnomes, draenei, kaldorei. How did it come to this?

Then a cloaked figure, armoured in a mix of gold and dark colours, runs up to Syrinia. White eyes glowing with the power of Elune

“Sister, quick! I’ve got a plan”

Syrinia nods. She knows she can trust this huntress with her life and runs off following her without question. The two hunters of Kalimdor run together to one of the doorways, their two companions running along side. Ferwyn leads them into a passage. She stops at the exit and points gesturing to Syrinia to look. She peers out. Over the snowplain outside the fortress, the passage brings them out to an opening someway behind the attacking Horde forces. Their attention on the great gates of the fortress.

“Quickly, sister, there isn’t much time” the beastmaster urges

They dive behind the rocks exposed in the snow and run down a path. The Horde do not spot the swift Kaldorei. They’re far too well trained to make mistakes, the cats prowl in unison and the four of them scramble down a ledge and jumps over a wall. They all land in a pile of thick snow.

Syrinia shakes the snow from her hair and ties it back. When Ferwyn shows determination like this, she knew things could get hectic. She looks over to where Ferwyn is running. A workshop. She gets out of the snow and runs over. A rogue appears from stealth at the doorway. Telsyr. Syrinia grins at the rogue as he gestures them to get inside.

The huntress sisters dive into the doorway and see Metya sat in a massive siege vehicle.

“Nice of you both to join us” he said

“Get in sister” Ferwyn calls as she dives into the machine. Telsyr follows and jumps into the turret of the machine, locking himself into place. Syrinia follows them into the machine and takes point by Ferwyn.

“Hold tight, this will get rough” Metya calls to them and starts the engines of the huge contraption

“For Kalimdor!” yells out Ferwyn and with a loud roar of mechanical power the great vehicle bursts out of the workshop doors. Syrinia and Ferwyn peer out of the windows of the machine as they roar up the hill and over the crest emerging behind the horde forces.

“Carnage” though Syrinia, as she looked out the tank windows. The fortress is under heavy attack. Guns from the towers firing into the horde army. Rangers fire from the platforms. The Horde using all their abilities. Guns, spells, weapons, all firing, all attacking.

Metya roars out as he stamps his foot onto the accelerator, the vehicle plows straight into the horde mass, knocking those too slow down and scattering others to each side

“Bandu thoribas!” Ferwyn calls out in true kaldorei tradition, and the door on the vehicle drops open. Syrinia knows what to do. The two hunters take their guns and fire at the Horde left in the wake of the vehicles path. The vehicle circles around, the turret firing out at horde out of range, the hunters taking those at close.

“Ok, Go” Metya calls and Ferwyn pulls Syrinia’s arm and they jump into the horde army. The cats leap out and pounce onto horde warriors taking them down as the sisters fire their guns into the horde who are scattering each and every way. The siege tank trundles through and around the perimeter as the turret fires at the approaching horde vehicles. The hunters clear a circle within the horde force and are quickly joined by humans and dwarves jumping down from the walls of the fortress. More and more the horde are scattering in confusion. More alliance join the group and push the attackers back. One by one the horde forces fall. Warrior Orcs, rogue Undead, those damn blood elf paladins, their bodies litter the ground.

“Ca’mon lads, yae almost done it” calls out a dwarven commander from amongst the gathered Alliance force. “Jus’ a wee bi’ more longer”

Syrinia stands by Ferwyn as they fire out. The silver haired kaldorei looks over to her friend and smiles.

“I can see why you come here so much, sister”

“Quiet, not yet” Ferwyn urges as she’s still clearly needing to hurt the hordes chances a little more. Blast after blast the hunters fire into the Horde still battling. An Orc warrior spots them and charges straight for them.

“RAHHHHHH!” the green skin roars out.

Ferwyn takes aim ~click~

“Oh Fel!” Ferwyn curses. “No ammo”

Before Syrinia could think, Ferwyn, clearly taking the initiative, throws her gun at a horde warrior. The butt of the gun hits him clear on the skull knocking him backwards and right into the claws of a powerful dark nightsabre. Maiq slashes the orcs flesh and brings him to the ground permanently.

A war horn is heard from afar and with that the remaining horde army retreat. Victory in Wintergrasp.

“There. We’ve done it sister” Ferwyn grins, and she wanders over to the fallen Orc and picks up her gun.

“Hmmm” Syrinia looks at Ferwyn, as she wipes the gun off before she puts it on her shoulder again “so these guns have other uses too, I see”

Ferwyn cackles to herself. “Just one thing our bows cannot do so well” she grinned.

The siege vehicle roars up the path and joins them. The Warrior and Rogue jump out and join them. Metya puts his hand on Ferwyns shoulder and looks out at the fleeing horde. He laughs out loudly.

Syrinia looks either side of her, her friends standing with her. Yes, this is good. This is her life now. Unity!

Ooh! That was really good! I giggled when Fer threw her gun at the Orc, that's thinking like Ferwyn right there for you. She would well do that.
And Metya and Tel at the workshop, was so believable, they're always charging off together in BGs to beat the crap out of stuff.
I loved it so much ^^ well done
